Build the brain behind the skyline. Join OMRT to pioneer the future of computational design.
Job description
OMRT is evolving. We are transitioning to a platform-first approach, fostering deep enterprise collaborations that are reshaping the real estate industry. This transformation requires a Computational Engineer who is ready to be the technical engine behind our most complex projects. We are looking for a pioneer in parametric design; someone who can translate high-level design challenges into elegant, scalable computational logic that sets a new industry standard.
In this role, you won't just follow a process; you will help define the future of how cities are built. You will work at the intersection of architecture, data science, and software engineering to deliver high-impact "Runs" across Urban Physics, Scenario Design, and BIM analysis on a global scale.
What you’ll do
As a Computational Engineer, you are at the heart of OMRT’s mission to automate and optimise the built environment. You will leverage AI and parametric workflows to solve problems that were previously unsolvable.
Your responsibilities include:
Drive High-Impact Delivery - Lead the technical execution of complex design studies, ensuring our outputs are the most sophisticated and accurate in the market.
Engineer Scalable Logic - Design and refine parametric scripts that power our platform, moving beyond one-off scripts to create repeatable, intelligent systems.
Innovate Across Domains - Apply your expertise to diverse challenges, from optimising urban microclimates and physics simulations to complex financial feasibility studies.
Co-Develop the Platform - Collaborate with our software and product teams to integrate your computational workflows into the OMRT platform, directly influencing our technical roadmap.
Champion Technical Excellence - Act as a subject matter owner for OMRT’s core engineering capabilities, ensuring our design logic remains ahead of the global competition.
Solve the "Unsolvable" - Proactively identify technical hurdles in design automation and engineer creative, robust solutions to overcome them.
Job requirements
Education and experience
A BSc or MSc in Architecture, Urban Design, Computational Design, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
2–4 years of professional experience in computational design or parametric engineering.
A proven track record of delivering professional parametric real estate projects (we value studio/agency experience where you’ve shipped real-world products).
A deep affinity for the intersection of design and technology, with a strong interest in integrating AI (LLM/ML) into computational workflows.
Certifications in Grasshopper, Rhino, or Python are considered a strong plus.
Skills
Computational Design - Proven ability to translate real estate design challenges into computational logic and data-driven workflows.
Parametric Scripting - Highly proficient in Grasshopper and Rhino 3D; experience with Python or C# is a major advantage for automating the "next level" of design.
Simulation & Analysis - Experience with environmental and physics simulations (e.g., solar, wind, daylight, thermal) and spatial data analysis.
Digital Integration – Understanding of how to bridge the gap between parametric design and BIM (Revit/IFC) for seamless project delivery.
BIM Literacy - Working knowledge of Revit or IFC workflows for integrated deliverables.
Technical Communication - Ability to identify blockers and communicate solutions proactively to team leads and domain experts.
Problem Solving - The ability to debug complex systems and optimize scripts for performance and scalability.
Behaviour characteristics
Team-First Collaborator - You thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment, enjoying the process of working "in and with" a team to solve complex, integrated workflows.
Open & Receptive Attitude - You maintain a non-defensive, transparent approach to your work; you actively welcome constructive technical feedback and provide it to others to elevate the team's standard.
Active Knowledge Sharer - You believe in collective growth rather than working in a silo, proactively contributing solved problems, new findings, and script improvements to the company’s knowledge base.
Proactively Communicative - You raise technical blockers and scope ambiguities early and specifically, ensuring that the team and leads are never surprised by compounding issues.
Methodical & Standard-Oriented - You follow established processes and frameworks with discipline, ensuring your work is reliable, repeatable, and easily understood by your peers.
Precision-oriented - You take immense pride in the quality of your output, rigorously self-validating your work to ensure zero deviations from the team’s quality standards.
Curious & Growth-driven – You are motivated by development goals and stay engaged with the "why" behind parametric tools, always looking for ways to integrate new AI/ML trends into the team's workflow.
