IT Support Administrator

  • On-site
    • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • Tech

A hands-on IT role with real ownership from day one, at a fast-growing tech company reshaping how the world builds.

Job description

OMRT is evolving. We are scaling our team, our tooling, and our IT infrastructure. The operational demands that come with that growth require dedicated ownership.

From office and employee device support and enrolment to onboarding flows, asset records, and security checks, the IT Support Administrator handles the day-to-day IT and operational backbone of the company. This is a practical, hands-on role where getting things done matters more than theory.

Reporting to the System Engineer, you will work closely with the Operations team to take over first-line IT support, device management, documentation, and operational coordination. This is an impactful entry-level role where you will grow your skills across a broad range of real IT systems while helping the company scale in an organised and secure way.

What you’ll do

As IT Support Administrator, you are the operational anchor for IT at OMRT. Your responsibilities include:

  • First-line IT Support – Be the go-to person for employees across laptops, accounts, software, access, printers, meeting rooms, Wi-Fi, Google Workspace, and Slack. Faster resolution means fewer interruptions for the whole team.

  • Device Setup & Endpoint Management – Set up, enroll, and maintain Windows and macOS devices. Support MDM policies, software deployment, updates, and compliance checks using tools like ManageEngine Endpoint Central and Apple Business Manager.

  • Onboarding & Offboarding – Prepare accounts, access rights, devices, and equipment for new joiners. Support secure offboarding by collecting hardware, revoking access, and completing checklists.

  • Asset & Inventory Management – Keep an accurate, up-to-date record of all devices, accessories, licences, serial numbers, and assigned users so that anyone can trace what's where at any time.

  • IT Documentation – Write clear, practical guides for common IT processes — laptop setup, account creation, troubleshooting steps, printer setup, meeting room support — reducing repeated questions and making handovers seamless.

  • Security & Access Control – Support MFA checks, account permission reviews, device lock policies, phishing awareness, and basic user security guidance to reduce gaps and unmanaged accounts.

  • IT Procurement & Vendor Coordination – Assist with ordering devices and accessories, following up on repairs and warranties, and keeping stakeholders updated on open items.

Job requirements

Education and experience

MBO / HBO / Bachelor-level in IT, Computer Science, Business IT, Information Management, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience. Students currently enrolled in a relevant programme are also welcome to apply.

1-2 years in IT support, helpdesk, technical support, workplace IT, or a similar assistant role. Student projects and self-learning experience counts.

Operating systems – Hands-on knowledge of Windows 10/11 and/or macOS, including updates, settings, and common troubleshooting.

Google Workspace – Familiarity with Gmail, Google Drive, user accounts, and admin tasks. Full admin experience is a plus, not a requirement.

Endpoint management – Basic knowledge of MDM, device enrolment, and compliance checks. Experience with ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Jamf, Intune, or Apple Business Manager is advantageous.

Certifications – CompTIA A+, Google IT Support Certificate, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar junior-level certifications are a plus.

Skills

  • IT Troubleshooting Able to investigate and resolve common issues across laptops, software, accounts, printers, network connectivity, and access — methodically and without complication.

  • Windows & macOS Support Comfortable supporting both platforms at a hands-on level.

  • Google Workspace Administration Basic to intermediate understanding of user management, groups, permissions, and admin console tasks.

  • Endpoint & Device Management Understanding of device enrolment, MDM policies, software deployment, and compliance at a junior level.

  • Access Management Careful and security-aware when creating, modifying, or removing user access.

  • Documentation Able to write simple, structured process guides and troubleshooting notes that others can actually follow.

  • Communication Can explain technical issues in plain language to non-technical colleagues and keep stakeholders updated without being chased.

  • Security Mindset Understanding of MFA, password hygiene, least privilege access, phishing awareness, and the importance of device security.

Qualities

  • Reliable You follow through on open tasks without needing constant reminders. People can count on you.

  • Curious You want to understand how things work and are comfortable asking when you don't know.

  • Organised You keep track of devices, tickets, checklists, and pending actions in a structured way. Nothing falls through the cracks.

  • Calm under pressure – When multiple people need help at once, you prioritise and stay composed.

  • Detail-oriented You know that a wrong serial number, a skipped access revocation, or a missed MFA check can create real problems downstream.

  • Practical You focus on workable solutions, not perfect ones. Progress over paralysis.

  • Discreet You understand that working in IT means seeing sensitive company and employee information. You handle it responsibly.

  • Flexible You are able to come onsite and troubleshoot when critical infrastructure fails.

Languages

  • English – Good professional working level (required)

  • Dutch – Minimum of intermediate working level, B1 or above (required)

Perks and benefits

  • Monthly gross salary €2,800 – €3,000 (for 40-hour/week) excl. 8% holiday pay
